New FBI Top Ten Fugitive Named

A 37-year-old gang member who shot a Los Angeles County Sheriff's deputy in the head during a traffic stop in 2000 has been added to the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. Emigdio Preciado Jr., who is believed to be residing in Mexico, is the 485th fugitive named to the Top Ten list since its inception 57 years ago.
 

While the information can include potentially anything about the individual's employment, credit, or past history, the most common usage of background checks refers to criminal records.
