Internet Crime Report Released

When it comes to crime, the Internet is like a Swiss Army knife--it's easy to use and versatile. That's made clear by the 2006 annual report released by our Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), which shows how criminals used the 'net to launch nine different types of fraud alone.
 

While the information can include potentially anything about the individual's employment, credit, or past history, the most common usage of background checks refers to criminal records.
